We are volunteer members from municipal conservation, climate smart, green policy and environmental task forces along the Lower Hudson, working together to build community resiliency and aggregate our impact. We found that collaboration helps.
We began this journey in winter of 2018 with an idea: wouldn't it be great if we could find out what folks are doing in neighboring towns?
That June we met at Irvington Town Hall to see who might be interested. A healthy number of reps attended from each of the villages along the Hudson from Hastings to Tarrytown. We decided to meet again.
For a year and a half, we met in person quarterly, with a user-oriented consensus-based mojo, hoping to support, inform and inspire each other. We then took to zoom because of the pandemic. In that time, our network has grown: we now include Sleepy Hollow and Elmsford, and have hosted colleagues from Scarsdale, Nyack, Larchmont and Rye. Since the pandemic, we have resumed in-person meetings, meeting 2-4 times a year.
