We believe that increasing resiliency means building and deepening relationships and developing creative solutions to strengthen communities in times of change and uncertainty. --New America
Rivertowns Heroes, is a 501(c)3 organization, working in partnership with Resilient Rivertowns, to meet the needs of our vulnerable populations during this crises. Rivertowns Heroes was formed in 2010 and has recently been reinvigorated in an effort to meet the needs of our vulnerable populations during the COVID-19 crises.
We are currently coordinating needs and offers in Irvington, Tarrytown, Dobbs Ferry and Hastings but would be happy to expand. Please reach out with any requests through the form below.
We are volunteers who look forward to connecting and will make our best efforts to get back to you quickly. Thank you for reaching out!
There are many ways to help within each community such as donating to the village (in support of senior centers support), the Volunteer Ambulance Corps, or various school support and food pantry programs. We are working in coordination with as many of these groups as possible to help coordinate overflow needs and supplies.
“Join our effort to put food on the table for all of our sponsored families during this time of crisis. As we all learn to navigate this new reality, Family-to-Family is above all focused on making sure that during this crisis, the impoverished families we sponsor are able to put food on the table.” Visit Family-to-Family to learn more.
“For those wishing to help in this unique and challenging time, we ask that you consider making a donation to Feeding Westchester. Your donation will be used to source and safely distribute food throughout this crisis. And, we ask that you take a moment and check in on your loved ones and stay informed on our website and through the CDC.” Visit Feeding Westchester to learn more.
“CALL FOR SUPPLIES! We’ve joined forces with a grassroots effort to collect donations that are delivered to local area hospitals and any healthcare professional on the frontlines working with COVID-19 patients.” Visit HudCo’s Facebook Post to learn more.
